Worship with Us This Sunday - 10:15 a.m.
We often meet people to whom we have only talked with over the phone, corresponded with, or heard of and say, “I am glad to put a name with a face.” Sunday we will get to put faces with a name.
Two years ago Pastor Todd was invited to participate in a Pastor’s Training Seminar in Guatemala. Through that experience, Snow Hill was introduced to the work of ASOSAP, The Hope of the Pokomchi. After his trip that included a medical team from Oklahoma, we chose to send our Vacation Bible School Offering to Hope of the Pokomchi. Initially the resources would go to help purchase a motorcycle for one of the nurses working a village health post.
Circumstances changed and the offering went to support the purchase of medicine. We received a large donation to help fund a nurse’s salary that year too.
This year Pastor Todd traveled to Guatemala in February and was accompanied by Ryan Overholt. Upon their return, Snow Hill was invited to partner with Hope of the Pokomchi to help fill a funding gap for La Providencia Health Post. Gifts were given and the need was met. When VBS rolled around last month, we designated our offering to Hope of the Pokomchi for medicines for La Providencia Hatlh Post.
Sunday we will meet Bill and Linda Brierly who founded Hope of the Pokomchi, ASOSAP. The story of their founding this non-profit Christian NGO in Guatemala is amazing in itself. What the Spirit of God has led them to do since those early days is remarkable. They will be accompanied by Glenda Mo de Suram who serves as the Administrator in Guatemala. Michael and Angela Wilcox will also be with the Brierly’s.
Come ready to show that Snow Hill hospitality and open to how God might speak through those who come telling of God’s Story they have experienced in Guatemala.
