Open House – Community of Hope

Two years ago, Snow Hill joined the growing number of Oklahoma Baptist churches involved in local medical ministry with the opening of Community of Hope free medical clinic. The clinic is open once a month and always interested in expanding as needs increase. Physicians are asked to volunteer for one Wednesday night each month for about three to four hours. Recent Oklahoma legislation also provides free malpractice insurance coverage for licensed or certified medical professionals.

Bill Sisson, healthcare ministries consultant for the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, assisted Snow Hill in the process. Donated equipment was located, and church members volunteered to prepare the space. The church also obtained a charity pharmacy license and began stocking the shelves with donated medicines. Oklahoma is one of the few states in the U.S. that has a charity pharmacy license category.

Snow Hill will host an Open House this Sunday from 3-5 p.m. The community is invited. Many of the professionals who volunteer will be on hand for the reception.

Jesus invites people into his life and his way. He takes what is and points to the new way of the Kingdom of God.  Come see what this journey is all about!

One way to think about the mission of Jesus - He calls into question the way things are and points to the way things may be in the Kingdom of God.
