From the description of the our newly added page @ Snow Hill Sermons . . .
Sermons are contextual. That is, they take place within a particular community. We read the sermons in the book of Acts and find them expressly contextual – for a time and a place. Yet, we read them as they still speak to us in some way or another in the hands of the Spirit. We offer some of the sermons preached with and at Snow Hill knowing they are located in our particular community. We hope that in the hands of the Spirit they speak to others in helpful and hopeful ways.
Currently the “program of preaching” at Snow Hill follows the Christian Seasons Calendar and the supporting Scriptures found in the Revised Common Lectionary. In years past preaching took the form of verse-by-verse through a book of the Bible. The same exegetical and expositional features at work in those sermons apply to the RCL texts used from week to week. The aim for Snow Hill is to always locate these texts in the larger narrative of the mission of God in the Story of God.
