Missional Teams Forming …

Foodpantry_2Abram heard God  speak. We find the story relayed to us in Genesis 12. The calling out of Abram served notice God would express his blessings to the world through relationships – "through you all the peoples of the world will be blessed."

How we contextualize living out that same understanding informs our desire to connect dreams  and visions with the needs in our community. Currently we have a couple of young ladies both getting the word out and planning to organize a food pantry at Snow Hill. Jamie and Kasey have placed a box in the Foyer to place donated items. Not only will we collect non-perishable food items but also hygiene products as well. If you are interested in helping work the Food Pantry – its organization, stocking and working – contact the church office (392-4753) or use one of the e-mail links to contact any of the staff directly.

Books Jeff is working on plans for our "Children’s Reading Room." We have set the dates for a "Book Fair." You will find the times and dates in the left sidebar under, "Special Events." We have already designated space and will be working to resourcing the room to be ready in September. If you are interested in helping to invest in our community in this way –   contact the church office (392-4753) or use one of the e-mail links to contact any of the staff directly.

Other projects in the works – Clothes Closet, Free Medical Clinic, After-School Program (to include tutoring) and Community Dinner. Keep watching for details.

Jesus invites people into his life and his way. He takes what is and points to the new way of the Kingdom of God.  Come see what this journey is all about!

One way to think about the mission of Jesus - He calls into question the way things are and points to the way things may be in the Kingdom of God.
