Worship with Us This Sunday - 10:15 a.m.
Many people put out their Christmas Trees weeks before Christmas. You may have decorated yours just after Thanksgiving. Maybe you lit your tree just a week before celebrating the coming of Jesus. How quickly will you put your tree away?
Have you considered leaving your tree up until the end of January? Why?
The countdown to next Christmas has begun. Retailers will work hard these next 51 weeks to lessen the necessity for the Christmas shopping season to pull them out of the red. But, unless something surprising occurs, retailers will still need the "boost" of the weeks before and the days after Christmas to end the year in the black.
We race to take down our tree and "get back to normal." What if leaving the tree for a few weeks caused us to consider the coming of Jesus a little longer before "getting the house back to normal?" Seeing the tree would be a constant reminder of one Scripture reading for this Sunday – "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us."
Think about it.
