Committed to Our Community – Thanks for the Expression of the Goodness of God

June will mark two years for the Community of Hope Free Medical Clinic at Snow Hill. Our pharmacy staff wrote 87 prescriptions last evening. We are debating what was the start date of our Food Pantry at Snow Hill. We know it is at least 3 years running. Last evening we distributed 110 large food boxes. We opened up our “Wednesday Fellowship Meal” to our Community and so now dub our meal to suit. Last evening we served upwards of 200 people. Numbers of people found clothing in our Clothes Closet. Everyone encountered the Spirit of Jesus in those given to serve in any of these ways.

Sure this sounds great to mark as a “look what we did.” But, what drives us at Snow Hill is our commitment to express the goodness of God in a world in need of The Good. Embodying what that looks like should be more than an etherial musing and more like a community whose core is Jesus.

We find this an expression of “practicing the Resurrection.” Maybe you need a place to do more than think and sing about what we ought to be about. Come share in our community, imperfect as it is. Find the Spirit’s pulse to make a big deal out of Jesus and His Way. Be challenged to drop the pretense of prayer and put your hand “to the plow.” Let’s together see what God might really make of us in Jesus – together.

Sorry, comments are closed for this post.

Jesus invites people into his life and his way. He takes what is and points to the new way of the Kingdom of God.  Come see what this journey is all about!

One way to think about the mission of Jesus - He calls into question the way things are and points to the way things may be in the Kingdom of God.
