Church As Missionary – Friendship in the Mission of God

Four years ago we invited Caleb and Lindsay Crider to lead us to think about Church As Missionary. For two consecutive years Caleb led us to consider the way a missionary looks at his or her world. From there we established some practices that would help us remember that rather than a group of people for themselves, church is for the world.

Sunday, February 10, we will host George “Tripp” Fuller who will pick up the theme, Church As Missionary. The particular vein in which Tripp will help us think flows from the title for his sermon, Friendship in the Mission of God. You could say this is a look at radical friendship. Read Luke 19:1-10 before this Sunday and be prepared to wrestle with Jesus and this familiar Text.

On Sunday evening we will gather and overhear Tripp spend some time with our youth and guests to consider how the current cultural fascination with Zombies may provide us a way to talk about the Gospel. We will meet at 6:00 p.m, in the Youth Room. Come early to get a good seat!

Jesus invites people into his life and his way. He takes what is and points to the new way of the Kingdom of God.  Come see what this journey is all about!

One way to think about the mission of Jesus - He calls into question the way things are and points to the way things may be in the Kingdom of God.
