Summit Camp 2017 Parent/ Camper Meeting

Summit Camp 2017 Parent/ Camper Meeting

The Summit Camp Parent/Camper meeting is this Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 4:30pm in the youth room. Here are some important things you need to know if you are going to camp:

1. All forms and payment are due by the time of the meeting. If you can’t make the meeting but plan on going to camp, make sure to let Brad know and make arrangements to get him forms and payment. Otherwise, we will assume you are NOT ATTENDING this year.

2. KBA has changed it’s activity participation form to include a new recreation activity. If you have already filled out a form and turned it in, we are sorry but the KBA part will have to be done again. This was a last minute change on their part that we were unaware of until this week. However, the Summit and Snow Hill ones will not have to be refilled out. You can download the new form here: Summit 2017 Form

3. Make sure on your forms BOTH parent and camper sign in the designated places.

4. Make sure to provide a copy of your insurance card.

We’ll see you at the meeting on Sunday as we go over the much needed info you need to be ready for camp.

The Theological Turn in Youth Ministry

One of my favorite writers today is Scot McKnight. He recently posted the following article on Youth Ministry as he introduces a book by Andrew Root and Kenda Dean, Bonhoeffer the Youth Worker: A Theological Vision for Discipleship and Life Together. Though we have not described a vision of Youth Ministry in these exact terms,… Continue Reading

Love Your Neighbor. Yes, Teachers Too.

With school starting back up next week for those in our community, it is inevitable for most parents to hear a version of the following statement, “I don’t like Ms./Mr. _____________.” I remember being in school and having the teachers I liked and others not so much. Often times I would use this as an… Continue Reading

Parenting the Digital Age: How Young is Too Young?

Fuller Youth Institute has begun a summer blog series titled Via Media. The intention is to present research and discuss technology and media in connection to adolescents and parenting. This is the first article of the series, and I’m interested in what parents in our community think about the findings and suggestions. So feel free to comment… Continue Reading

Jesus invites people into his life and his way. He takes what is and points to the new way of the Kingdom of God.  Come see what this journey is all about!

One way to think about the mission of Jesus - He calls into question the way things are and points to the way things may be in the Kingdom of God.
